Once again, The Four Points by Sheraton Guangzhou, Dongpu amuses their visitors by hosting a Guest Chef. From April 15 to May 5, Macanese Chef Cheok Pak Tong from The Westin Resort Macau will bring to Guangzhou an impressive range of Portuguese delicacies with his exceptional "art-de-la table" at The Eatery.

With a rich European cultural background, Macau has absorbed during nearly four centuries a strong level of Portuguese know-how at all levels and especially in terms of gastronomy. Portuguese cuisine is characterized by rich, filling and full-flavored dishes closely related to Mediterranean cuisine with a special touch of colonial influence, notable in the wide variety of spices used. The spices included are piri-piri (small, fiery chilly peppers), black pepper, cinnamon, vanilla and saffron among others. These, wisely blended with an olive oil, garlic and herb base, become the "magic touch" of this delicious cuisine.
Boasting over 20 years of Portuguese culinary experience, Chef Cheok Pak Tong started off his cooking career as an apprentice to Portuguese chefs at Restaurante Fernando, Macau. Chef Tong demonstrated his extensive and exquisite culinary talents in authentic Portuguese cuisine as Chef at The Westin Resort Macau for 18 years. His culinary skills symbolize the true flavor of Portugal and thus received high praise from the gastronomy community in Macau.

The buffet menu will include Shrimp salad with garlic, onion and black pepper; the famous soup of Caldo Verde; Portuguese beef croquettes; Feijoada – braised pork knuckle with kidney beans and chouriço; baked vegetables "Portuguese style" among many others. Chef Tong's signature dishes, which shouldn't be missed, are Baked Portuguese Coconut Chicken; Sautéed Clams with White Wine and coriander; Portuguese Roasted Suckling Pig and Traditional Portuguese Duck Rice with jus.
An exquisite range of desserts is also proposed for guests and visitors: Sweet Egg Yolk; Serradura; Portuguese Chocolate Custard Cake; Red Wine Pears with Cinnamon Cream and many more.
