The five restaurants at Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou present an array of festive specialities to create cherished memories during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The food-theatre-styled WOK TOO Café is an ideal venue for family gatherings and offers diners an international buffet spread featuring traditional festive delicacies and a wide selection of desserts. il Forno restaurant uses premium ingredients such as Wagyu beef and Australian lobster to create a memorable Italian dining experience for couples. Osechi Ryori, the traditional Japanese New Year set dinner, will be served by resident Japanese chefs throughout January 2012 at Nadaman.

New Year highlights include Braised Goose Web and Sea Cucumber with Abalone Sauce, Sichuan-style Chilli Crab, and Steamed Codfish with Black Olive Leaves.

Featuring a chic and romantic ambience, il Forno Italian restaurant offers exquisite Christmas and New Year’s Eve set dinners prepared with imported ingredients such as French foie gras, Australian lobster, Atlantic codfish and Wagyu beef. For guests who would like to experience a traditional Japanese-style New Year, the Osechi Ryori set dinner is highly recommended. Enjoyed by most Japanese people at the beginning of the New Year, the Osechi Ryori is made from auspicious ingredients and is served in a compartmentalised lacquer box. Almost every ingredient used has a meaning, such as good health, good harvest, prosperity and longevity. For instance, herring roe symbolises prosperity, black beans imply a wish for good health, and red, pink or white coloured food represent celebration. To maintain the authenticity of Osechi Ryori at Nadaman, all ingredients, boxes and tableware are imported directly from Japan. A festive teppanyaki set dinner and suki-yaki set dinner will also be available during the Christmas and New Year season.
