Where to find to a reasonably-priced buffet dinner in Guangzhou? Well, a "buy one get one free" promotion at the five-star Carat Hotel might be one of the answers. On Sunday to Thursday nights until the end of March, the price is decent for two.
The promotion features healthy salad mixed with organic vegetables all grown in Guangzhou's Baiyun district along with delicious breads and sausages. All sorts of seafood including Alaska crabs, New Zealand oysters and Norway Salmon are served with complementary free flow of drinks. Fresh seafood sashimi, baked steaks and fish or barbecued pig leg with honey are also offered at the open kitchen.

On each Friday and Saturday the "Nights of Paris" will mean more delicate French dishes. Duck Confit, a well-known dish from South France, is duck leg cooked in oil for about five to six hours to give a deep rich sumptuous flavour. Another two typical dishes, Pan-fried Goose Liver and Baked Snail with Vanilla, Garlic and Butter are must-tries.
The Home Kitchen restaurant also features a semi-buffet at noon. You can choose one from four main course choices – Sizzling Weever Fillet with Eggplant Sauce, Japanese Teriyaki Sole Fish Fillet, Teriyaki Chicken Steak with Garlic or Grilled Duck Breast with Pepper Sauce.
